Learn how to save money by reducing your household food wastes.

Food Smarts Waste Reduction (FSWR) is an interactive workshop created by Leah’s Pantry that teaches participants how to be resourceful and creative in the kitchen to save money and minimize food waste. Workshops can be a stand-alone lesson, or they can be a series of 2-3 lessons.

Participant Goals

➔ Understand the consequences of food waste and the importance of its reduction
➔ Learn how to repurpose food scraps, revitalize leftovers, store, and preserve food
➔ Develop individual goals for minimizing food waste
➔ Learn recipes and cooking techniques that aid in reducing food waste
➔ Learn strategies for decreasing waste from packaging, “expired” food, and improper food storage
➔ Increase fruit and vegetable consumption
