Kidney Walks have been an essential part of our fundraising world since 1996. Since that time, the Kidney Walks have grown into a $400,000/year extravaganza in Michigan, and happen throughout the country! Kidney Walks raise money, empowers the kidney community, and amplifies awareness of kidney disease.

Each walker over the age of 12 is asked to raise at least $50 in order to offset the cost of admission tickets, entertainment, parking, etc. Walkers aged 3-12 are asked to raise $15. Walkers 2 and under are free. Our hope is that each walker will play a significant role in helping us reach our fundraising goal of $450,000. If each walker raised an average of $100, we would surpass our goal and be able to provide even more programs and services to the people of Michigan living with chronic kidney disease.

Justin and Erica Bazman
Meet the Bazman Siblings

Siblings Justin and Erica Bazman have been doing the Michigan Kidney Walk every year since 2017 in honor of their mom, Debi. Debi lost her battle with kidney disease in June 2013. Before she died, Debi was in the hospital for about 3 months.

When they lost Debi, the siblings decided that every year, on or around Debi’s birthday, they would visit the zoo in her honor. After finding out about the Kidney Walk, they started participating annually.
