Volunteer Nurses & Residents Needed!

Kids Camp would not be possible without the support of its medical volunteers whose care and dedication help create a wonderful experience for our campers.  Join our medical team this summer!

When: August 4-9, 2024

Where: YMCA Camp Copneconic – Fenton, MI

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience working in nephrology, dialysis, and/or renal replacement management.
    • Nurses: Active license to practice nursing in Michigan.
      • Experience in pediatrics preferred but not required.
    • Residents: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-graduate pediatric residency training program.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Must attend mandatory pre-camp in-service training for all Kids Camp staff
  • Abides by all Kids Camp policies and procedures
    • All residents and nurse practitioners must provide proof of medical malpractice insurance.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Performing vital signs
  • Administering medications
  • Assisting with peritoneal dialysis treatments or accompanying campers to hemodialysis as needed per Director of Nursing
  • Following Standing Orders and directives from on duty pediatric nephrologist and/or Director of Nursing
  • Providing First Aid and CPR as needed

Time Commitment:

Come for a day, overnight, or stay the week!  Our shifts are flexible.  The medical staff schedule is coordinated in advance by the Kids Camp Program Director.
