ANN ARBOR, MICH. – The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) has announced three new volunteer Board members: Lisa M. Hardy, vice president of Health Care Value Performance and Execution, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM); Bill Kolb, Global President, Diversified Agencies, McCann Worldgroup and Chairman and CEO, Commonwealth//McCann; and Richard Murdock, founder of R.B. Murdock Consulting, LLC.
In her current position, Lisa Hardy leads strategic alignment and execution efforts to drive customer-focused service delivery at BCBSM. Her responsibilities include planning, performance management, project execution and business analytics. Previously, Hardy held various leadership positions at BCBSM, including vice president, Corporate Performance and Administration, and Corporate Secretary at Blue Care Network (BCN). At BCN, Hardy was responsible for BCN’s operations performance, creating efficiencies, improving corporate work flow and customer satisfaction. She also oversaw the HMO’s business support functions.
Before joining BCBSM in 2000, Hardy held a number of leadership positions in health care delivery. She has had extensive leadership training and is a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives. She’s designated by America’s Health Insurance Plans as a certified health insurance executive, and in 2011, she was recognized by Who’s Who in Black Detroit. Hardy holds a master’s in Health Services Administration and a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan. She lives in Ann Arbor.
Bill Kolb, who served as the 2017 Co-Chair and 2018 Chair of the Kidney Walk at the Detroit Zoo, has been at McCann Worldgroup since 2000, serving in many roles. As Global President, Diversified Agencies, he fosters overall growth and integration across all McCann Worldgroup diversified agencies, leading key practice areas and disciplines such as data, analytics, health and media.
One of McCann Worldgroup’s most experienced marketing executives, Kolb has spent his career building brands and businesses from the ground up. He has worked with multinational clients including General Motors, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Merck, and Anheuser-Busch. Prior to working at McCann, he spent time in publishing, finance, real estate and oil industries. Since joining McCann Worldgroup, Kolb has held various top-level roles ranging from CFO to CEO. He has been instrumental in the inception and growth of Commonwealth//McCann, the agency handling the global Chevrolet account, and the development and expansion of MRM//McCann, one of the world’s leading customer relationship agencies. He lives in both Birmingham, Michigan and New York, New York.
Richard Murdock’s 40 years of work experience has been entirely in health policy and finance in Michigan. He retired in 2017 as Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), after serving in that position since 2004. He maintains a consulting role with MAHP, other trade associations in Lansing, America’s Health Insurance Plans, and Medicaid Health Plans of America. His consulting company focuses on key policy issues in managed care, health care cost and serves as the Grant Coordinator for the MAHP Foundation initiative, “Creating Healing Communities: Addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences in Michigan”. As a former adjunct professor at Central Michigan University, Murdock continues to participate in many health policy presentations. Currently, he is on the Board of several state non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining MAHP, Murdock enjoyed several positions within the state Budget Office and Department of Community Health, including direct administration of Michigan’s Medicaid Managed Care program from 1997 to 2002. He was a financial specialist for the state Budget Office, focusing on Mental Health and Special Medicaid Financing. Within the state Health Planning Office, he held positions in health professional training, preventive health practices and health care cost analysis. He also served on local township planning commissions and advisory committees. He received a bachelor’s from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He lives in rural Ingham County.
