The month of April is National Minority Health Month and the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) is recognizing Minority Health Month by educating communities on how to manage and prevent diabetes, which is disproportionately higher in many minority groups.
March is National Kidney Month and March 12, 2015 is World Kidney Day.
The NKFM was recently awarded a 4-year grant by the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH), which will provide $1.76 million of funding over the next 4 years.
